Description
Our goal for this project was to create the most efficient turbine engine. We were able to choose whichever engine we wanted so we chose the turbo fan.
procedure
For this project we used a turbo fan, and we did not alter the flight conditions or the size. We chose the turbo fan because it is commonly known for its high thrust and fuel efficiency. A turbo fan engine is an engine like most engines that suck air into the front, compresses the air, mixes it with fuel, and ignites it out the back, which creates thrust. The turbo fan is the most commonly used engine for passenger airlines that fly us all around. As the air goes into the engine, blades push it through and the blades continue to get smaller, that makes more compression.
Our constants for this project were the throttle at 100%, speed at 400 MPH, and the altitude at 6000 ft, which are pretty reasonable conditions fur a turbofan. We had to complete 10 different simulations, while only changing one variable at a time.
